DBA

 

Client is growing rapidly and needs a DBA to join
their growing team.  The Client manages chargebacks and
risk for online merchants; their SAAS based service suite allows
merchants to get up and running quickly and realize immediate results.
This position would join the technology team which
includes systems
engineering, software development,
and network operations and
is crucial to Client’s
success.

You will be supporting a database manager in
the
following areas:

  • · Provisioning, installing, configuring, operating and maintaining Client’s database
    systems
  • · Assisting
    with technical research
    and development to
    enable continuing innovation within
    the infrastructure
  • · Ensuring Client’s
    database systems procedures
    adhere to regulatory requirements and are aligned
    with organizational values
  • · Assisting Software Engineering team with database related technical issues
  • · Participating on application development
    projects, focusing on the transition of
    projects from Software Engineering to Production
    Infrastructure by addressing database activities within the software development

life-cycle and ongoing support during production operations

  • · Monitoring, tuning, replication,
    query
    optimization, backup and recovery of MySQL
    database systems

 

You bring to the table:

  • · Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
  • · 3 yrs experience as a DBA
    • · Experience with
      MySQL in a
      multi master
      environment
    • · Experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Debian)

troubleshooting and engineering

  • · Experience with
    Shell scripting and system

automation with PHP, Perl, or Python

  • · Strong written
    and oral communication
  • · Motivation and
    ability to quickly learn
  • · Expectation to be challenged
    • · High degree of independence and exceptional
      work
      ethic

 

In addition,
the
following would be a
plus:

  • · MySQL  Certification
    • · Experience working in
      a high transaction volume 24x7x365 processing environment
    • · Strong working knowledge and experience
      supporting PHP development teams
    • · Familiarity with
      the Payment Card Industry and various Acquirers/Processors
    • · Understanding of the chargeback
      process
    • · Experience with
      SAN
      and NAS
      • · Experience in geographically separated environments
      • · Experience with stored procedures
      • · Experience with triggers
